The website ordabok.is was launched on Halloween October 31, 2001. It offered
an English-Icelandic and Icelandic-English dictionary which had already been
on the market since Orðabók Aldamóta in 1993 and subsequently in Tölvuorðabókin. The website was the first of its kind to be opened in Iceland. In recent years a Danish-Icelandic and an Icelandic-Danish dictionary has been added, as well as a Spelling dictionary. The website ordabok.is is unique in being first to market with products that matter to people today. Every day thousands of people use the website. Page impressions per week are about 300,000.
